You probably have heard the expression that “time is of the essence”. It merely means, from a legal perspective, that the parties of an agreement recognize that the dates and deadlines referenced in the contract are important and are not to be overlooked or considered inconsequential. There can be some exceptions but there are very few.
The same is true of practicing law, and particularly in litigation, because the law has esteemed timeliness to be extremely important in the protection of the rights of parties.
Timeliness is important in life and extremely important in legal matters. Pay attention to it and cooperate with your attorney in it. Inquire about it and how it affects your particular situation.
