If you are about to lease a residence, be sure that you take full precautions about the arrangements with the Landlord. Get everything in writing and make the language simple. Know what is expected of you and get a good idea of the Landlord’s attitude in dealing with its tenants.
IMPORTANTLY, perhaps the first and the last thing you should do if you decide to enter the lease is to take pictures when you move in and take pictures when you vacate. The reason for this is to be sure to have proof of the condition at both times in case you have to show the way you took it and the way you left it. On the back of those pictures, put your initials and the date; better yet, take pictures that show the date on the face of the photo.
